We investigate how cognition and behavior emerge from dynamic interactions across neuronal ensembles and how these interactions are disturbed in the diseased brain. We employ an interdisciplinary multi-scale approach that links large-scale population measures of neuronal activity to circuit and cellular-level mechanisms. We combine human magneto- and electroencephalography (MEG, EEG), magneto- and electromyography (MMG, EMG), animal electrophysiology, psychophysics and sophisticated analytical techniques.
